The work behind these photos

Every job starts with a survey and moisture readings, like the meter shots above. Readings taken at different heights tell us whether moisture is coming from the ground, from rain getting in, or from condensation inside the room.

Where readings confirm rising damp, we install a new damp proof course using a BBA approved system. Where water is getting in from outside, our penetrating damp treatment fixes the defect first. Where the cause is condensation or mould, the answer is usually ventilation rather than injection.

What a typical job involves

A typical rising damp job follows the same careful steps:

  • Free survey with moisture readings and a written recommendation
  • Protecting floors and furniture before work begins
  • Removing salt-damaged plaster from affected walls
  • Injecting a new chemical damp proof course into the mortar line
  • Replastering with a salt-resistant system, ready for decoration
  • A 20-year guarantee certificate on completion

Gallery questions

Are these photos of your own work?

Yes. These are original photographs carried over from our previous website, showing surveys, readings and treated walls.

How long does a typical job take?

It depends on the size of the affected area and the treatment needed. We give you a clear timescale with the written recommendation after the survey.

Do you replaster after treatment?

Yes. Where plaster has been damaged by salts we remove it and replaster with a salt-resistant system so the wall is ready to decorate.
